Creamy sausage and tomato pasta
Hi guys, I'm back with another recipe! Can you tell I like to cook? Personally, I prefer salads and fruit, the light stuff, while my husband loves pasta and meats. If there is no bread of meat, he doesn't want it. So, I've become accustomed to versatile recipes involving both ingredients.
Ingredients:
Sausage (such as Andouille or kielbasa)
Pasta of choice
8 oz can of Ro-Tel tomatoes and green chiles
About 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
Small onion
3 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
Parmesan cheese (or cheese of choice, who am I to run your taste buds?)
Cayenne pepper
Paprika
Salt & pepper
Preparation:
Dice onion, slice sausage and fry it up until golden. At the last minute, add minced garlic.
After a couple min, add the can of Ro-Tel tomatoes and simmer for 3 to 5 min.
Add the cream and spices, bring to a boil and lower to a simmer.
Add the pasta. You may make it al dente before hand OR add dry pasta.
When the noodles start to cook, slowly add parmesan cheese to taste until the sauce thickens.
If you added dry pasta, cover the pot and let it simmer, stirring it every so often until the pasta is done.
Garnish with parsley/cilantro.
Enjoy! Let me know how you like it.
